1. How do you film on the sims 2?

- It's actually pretty simple to film on the sims 2. There is a button that looks like a video camera located at the bottom left of the screen (around the pause and speed buttons). Just click that or press "v" on your keyboard to start filming. To stop filming, just click the film button again or press "v" on your keyboard. NOTE: you do NOT have the option to film if you are using any story pack (ex: Life Stories, Castaway Stories, Pet Stories, etc.) NOTE 2: Don't freak out if your game is in 'slow motion' while you are filming. that happens to many people [including me]. It may be weird at first, but you get used to it.

2. What movie editor do you use?

- I will be using iMovie from the start of Untitled. and any future projects after that. Now, if you want to know what editor i used for West Coast Academy and West Coast Life, then i used Windows Movie Maker. [i answer questions concerning Windows Movie Maker and iMovie too].

3. How do you add subtitles?

- for Windows Movie Maker: Just click on the clip you want to add a subtitle on, then at the left, there should be a column with a list of options. Click on the "add title to selected clip", and type.

-for iMovie: Go to the title clip - it should look like a "T" and it is usually located underneath the screen where you can preview your video - and choose whichever type of title you want, then drag it to the clip you want the subtitle on.

4. How do i get good quality and a larger size on my videos?

- go to options (for camera's and filming) in the game and click on high quality and large for filming size. NOTE: DO NOT click on high uncompressed as it takes up ALOT of space on your computer. - i learned the hard way. :P

5. what expansion packs do you use?

- on my windows computer (West Coast Academy and West Coast Life) i used Sims 2 Deluxe, and Sims 2 University.

-on my macbook i use Sims 2 [base game], Sims 2 Nightlife, Sims 2 University, Sims 2 Seasons, and Sims 2 Open for Business.

6. How and where do you download your custom content?

- Okay, i am unable to use any other site besides thesims2.com [this was when i had a windows computer], as every other site crashes my game - cheap windows computer! BUT! i am using some advice from another sims 2 movie maker and this is what they said:

If you are getting custom content from a website that is not thesims2.com, the file is most likely in Zip or Rar format so you need WinZip or WinRar to install it. When you see something you want, go ahead and download the file. Save it initially into My Documents. Then WinZip/WinRar should start. Next you want to extract it into your Downloads folder. It sounds kinda hard and can be confusing at first but it's quite simple once you get the hang of it. The default path is for the file to be extracted into your Unzipped Documents (My Documents>Unzipped) 'cause WinZip/WinRar assumes this is where you want it to extract the file to. In our case, we need it somewhere else (our Downloads folder, specifically) so, you need to change the path to: My Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 > Downloads. The click Extract or Extract To or whatever type of extracting message it says. And there you have it, the content should be in your game.

[i now know how download on sites other than thesims2.com on my mac computer - those directions above are meant for WINDOWS. if you want to know how to download on a mac, go ahead and ask me as it might take awhile for me to post the mac directions on the website.]

7. When will the new episode come out?

- i don't really give out release dates for the new episodes, but you can usually expected a new episode out from around 3 weeks to a month. In some cases where i don't release an episode within that time, don't worry, i might be busy....please understand.

8. How do you upload a video on youtube?

- There should be a yellow box near the top right corner of the youtube home page - make sure you have a youtube username - click on the box and follow the instructions! NOTE: save your video in a folder you can easily find:

ex:
-for a mac: save under the "movies" folder
-for windows: save under the "my videos" folder

NOTE: videos uploaded on YT cannot exceed 10 minutes.

9. Do you have any advice for movie makers, NEW and EXPERIENCED?

- Definitely! Here is a list:

1. Don't show the sky when filming (you can download some off of modthesims2)

2. Don't show speech bubbles (cheat: showHeadlines off) (make sure there are NO headlines showing when you press enter and that when you use the cheat, that the game is not paused)

3. Don't show the plumbob (use the same rules for speech bubbles cheat - cheat: PlumbBobToggle off)

4. make sure to practice ALOT and don't get fustrated if you mess up, just try again.

5. have a good story before you start...don't copy other people (try not to worry if it has some things similar such as the title or a few things or names - things always turn out differently for your series than others).

7. HAVE FUN! don't make this seem like something you HAVE to do - like homework, if you need a break, take a break, but make sure to tell your viewers so they don't get cranky and they should understand - in my experience, i have taken like a three week break from this, when i got back, things were great! ^_^
